I enjoy reading and writing, and in the past few weeks I’ve been learning about SEO, including content writing, website structure, and keyword research.
I believe if one of the best ways to learn SEO is through experimentation, which is why I created my own website, and focusing on topics that I’m passionate about.
Even though my website is relatively new, I’ve been able to experimenting with various techniques, that will helping me to understand which strategies that work and which don’t.
I did this because I believe that “Nothing can beat hands-on experience when I need to learn something“

Creating a new website and managing all the SEO strategies is a new challenge for me.
But, the good news is I can trial and error using my own website as my media learning, and this is what I do.
Keyword Research
Find words and phrases that users are searching for on search engines and also keywords have an increasing focus on searcher intent
On-site Optimization
A complete and detailed analysis
into site health, performance, contents and site speed
On-site Content Mapping
Providing quality content on website, regularly adding new information, and establishing user trust
Important note: because my website is a newborn website, I didn’t include the off-site optimization for now, because On-site optimization is the first important step to think about
Aim Small & Miss Small
As a very small personal project, for now my currently SEO objective is to increase website traffic by 50 – 100 visitors/month.
And to reach this goals, I started with keyword research.
Keyword research
There are four main topics that I cover on my website: books, psychology, productivity, and lifestyle.
And this is some of seed keyword that I found.
With a new website, I prioritizing keywords with low competition that have some decent search volume. I did this to make it easier to rank in Google.
Also, all of this seed keywords is my foundation to create content-mapping and write the article for my website.
Page Speed
Apart from doing keyword research, I also conduct audits on website speed and performance.
Website speed and performance is one of the crucial factors for SEO. Because of that, I want to ensure that my website has fast access to make it easily accessible.
With PageSpeed Insights, I can identify what needs to be improved or fixed if necessary, and for now overall is on good conditions.
Technical Site Audit
With ScreamingFrog, I can perform a more in-depth audit of my site and receive detailed reports on any errors or issues with the website. From this, I can identify what needs to be fixed based on the type of error and set priorities for the issues I face.
